Outcomes of this program for underserved at-risk youth include: *Improving children's quality of life promoting positive values and increasing social competencies through the use of horses *Providing a safe environment where children experience nature learn respect for animals and gain new life skills *Encourage exploration of positive options for future activities and career opportunities *Develop future leaders by introducing and promoting peer leadership as a model for life while building work ethic and fitness

$22KVilla of Hope Equine Experience Program - A Horse's Friend Inc.'s year-round Equine Experience Program with the Villa of Hope provides youth experiencing behavioral health issues an opportunity to see a brighter side of life through their relationship with horses. Goals for youth in this program include instilling positive values of self-respect self-regulation respect for others personal responsibility and restraint and honesty in a protective serene environment away from the recent increase in violence impacting their neighborhoods.

$18KSaddle Up For Success - Summer & Holiday Camps - A Horse's Friend Inc.'s Summer and Holiday Horsemanship Camps are a 5 day week long program where youth are introduced to the basic knowledge to work with and be around horses. Each participant progresses at his her own speed in learning horse care and communication grooming walking feeding horses horse tack and riding. The program exposes children to a supportive environment with positive values such as self-respect self-confidence respect for others and resilience.
