Program 1
$1.1MThe Orthodontic Program provides orthodontic services at a reduced cost to youth in the greater Long Beach region. Throughout fiscal year 2025, the Orthodontic Center averaged 1,067 patients under treatment.
Program 2
$227KMentoring and Scholarship programs support students in the Long Beach community. The mentoring program provides promising students with individualized guidance in academic achievement, career development, and social responsibility. Scholarships are awarded to students attending local high schools, Long Beach City College, and California State University Long Beach, as well as other universities. In fiscal year 2025, 38 students received scholarships and 32 students were mentored.
Program 3
$164KThe Howard and Asian Art Collection is a museum-quality display of Asian artifacts housed at the Corporations Cherese Mari Laulhere Philanthropic Center. The Collection includes pieces accumulated by Walter and Margaret Howard as well as other gifts contributed to Assistance League of Long Beach. Docent-led tours are provided for Long Beach Unified School District students as an integral part of seventh-grade curriculum. During fiscal year 2025, 509 students and more than 100 adults toured the facility.
