ASSISTS

Assists (american-senegal surgical initiative, surgeons teaching surgeons) - assists is a non-profit corporation dedicated to providing african surgeons training and support in order to eliminate medical conditions endemic to west africa that are treatable, using contemporary surgical techniques. The collaboration is based in dakar, senegal and involves american and west african surgeons working together to improve surgical techniques and the facilities in which those services are provided. The aim of assists is to develop a center of surgical excellence to serve the needs of the west african people while remaining respectful of their culture and customs.program is in existence and ongoing.
