Amd's migraine research initiative is led by amd's research advisory committee consisting of leading researchers who help identify knowledge gaps in migraine to influence future research projects. Amd provides funding for innovative research projects through its grant program. Amd launched the headache, ear, auditory, dizziness, sinus (heads) registry. Which compiles information from people (with or without migraine) who have sinus, vestibular, and auditory symptoms. The data will be used to improve the care and treatment of people living with these symptoms. Finally, amd created the migraine science collaborative (msc) a non-profit news website and information resource hub for the global community of migraine and headache basic scientists, clinical researchers, and clinicians.

Program 2

Awareness-shades for migraine is a global social media awareness campaign created in 2017 by the association of migraine disorders with the goal of raising public awareness about migraine and eliminating stigma. Annually, on and around june 21, people living with migraine, their friends, families, and coworkers, post pictures on social media wearing sunglasses. Sunglasses are a visual representation of an invisible symptom of migraine called phonophobia or extreme sensitivity to light.

Program 3

$317K

Educational video series - an intro video explains migraine as a full-body disease and discusses symptoms, phases and triggers. Subsequent videos will teach viewers how treatments work in the body to help manage migraine. Healthcare provider migraine resource kit - patient and provider resources include an online cme course on diagnosing and treating migraine, patient handouts, exam room posters, medication guides, dosage aids, etc. A plan is in place to get these resources into underserved communities. Spotlight on migraine - a podcast features presentations and interviews with patients, researchers, advocates and medical professionals, each sharing their unique perspective on migraine. Educational outreach: amd provides a variety of educational resources including newsletters, blogs, migraine minute and other social media content. Amd has also created a comorbidity library that explores the relationship between migraine and more than 75 comorbid diseases.
