$15.9MGlobal health:in september 2020, aphl received the global health security partnerships: expanding and improving public health laboratory strategies and systems cooperative agreement for protecting and improving health globally: building and strengthening public health impact, systems, capacity and security. Aphl also has a cooperative agreement to support the achievement of the global health security (ghs) targets in kenya that focus on protecting and improving health globally through regional, national, and local partnerships. Also, we continue to receive pepfar funding for only select countries: mozambique & ghana. In september of 2023 aphl received the grant for supporting continuous quality improvement, partnerships, and innovation for sustained and responsive laboratory systems, tiered diagnostic networks, and laboratory data management under pepfar. This cooperative agreement is to build upon activities to ensure access to quality-assured conventional and poc hiv-related laboratory and diagnostic services, emphasizing laboratory informatics/data systems and cqi approaches for poc testing sites, laboratories, the clinic-laboratory interface, and across integrated national diagnostic networks.

$4.2MOther federal awards:the health resources and services administration (hrsa) cooperative agreements to aphl supports the newborn screening technical assistance and evaluation program, a national newborn screening resource center designed to provide data, technical assistance, and training to newborn screening programs and assist states with quality improvement initiatives. It functions with the goal of improving outcomes for newborns by facilitating newborn screening initiatives and programmatic outcomes to improve the overall quality of the newborn screening system.the food and drug administration (fda) cooperative agreements to aphl works to continue building competency-based integrated training for regulatory laboratory scientists, workshops, and educational resources to laboratories seeking iso/iec 17025 accreditation, support fda's genometrakr network, and improve the sharing of food testing data via fda's elexnet platform.
