BAPTIST CHILDREN'S HOMES OF NORTH

Christian adoption services - the ability to aid families with domestic, foster to adopt, kinship, and international adoptions. This year 43 children were placed in loving homes, 243 birth mothers were counseled and 8 birth mothers accepted christ! Foster to adopt church partnership: the number of churches partnering with bch to impact the lives of children in their communities through foster care and adoption is growing. Bch provides training and licensing classes to couples who desire to become foster parents at participating churches. Through foster parenting they can eventually seek adoption.

The north carolina baptist aging ministry (ncbam) - ncbam is a nonresidential program providing information and resources to north carolina's aging population. The ministry helps them maintain their independence and a quality life by connecting aging adults and their families with resources to meet needs, and on coordinating practical ministries.

Emergency care - emergency care is provided for children during a family crisis. Safe, immediate care is given to the child while the family is helped to deescalate the crisis and to develop an immediate plan. The maximum length of stay is 60 days.

Residential wilderness camping programs - baptist children's homes' offers residential wilderness camps for schoolaged boys and girls. Cameron boys camp is located in cameron, nc near southern pines. Camp duncan for girls is based in aberdeen close to pinehurst. Camp provides behavioral change for children in a highly structured, wilderness environment. Three staff members called chiefs supervise each group of ten children. The wellbalanced, licensed alternative education program teaches discipline and selfworth. The program provides children and their families an opportunity to work out problems. From arrival at camp through followup visits in the home, social workers focus on all family members.

Wcu ministries - ministry to serve college students at wcu who are formerly foster care of have no place to go during breaks or time off from school. Served over 8,000 this past year. This college ministry outreaches to college students at western carolina university in cullowhee. Through its oncampus center, homebase offers support to children who have aged out of the children's residential and foster care systems who do not have adequate family support. It offers physical, emotional and spiritual programs and resources to help students achieve success.greater vision ministrycommunity outreach, donors provide supplies, clothing etc, and through community nonprofits we distribute.

Weekday education - a total of 53 children were served through this program providing quality child care and learning for families.

Residential services for adults with developmental disabilities - a number of families received services through this program. Residential services as well as recreational and learning activites are provided in a loving, enriching and quality setting.
