Urban conservation birds connect seattle works with dozens of partners to develop strategies and programs that reduce urban hazards to birds, prioritizing bird-safe building practices, reducing pesticide use, and protecting and growing urban forests and green spaces. Specific programs include:1. Birds connect seattle partners with capitol hill ecodistrict leading the nature of your neighborhood program, which is working to enhance habitat quality and connectivity and make the neighborhood a national model for environmental sustainability and community health.2. We advocate for a stronger, smarter, and simpler tree protection ordinance, funding for the green seattle partnership, and science-based urban forestry management.3. Birds connect seattle advocates for policy and actions that are good for birds and people, including bird-safe building legislation, tree canopy policy changes, protecting the arctic national wildlife refuge from oil and gas leasing, safer oil transportation in puget sound, and fully funding washington department of fish and wildlife.4. Birds connect seattle leads seattle's urban bird treaty city group, known as the seattle bird conservation partnership, which includes local non-profit and city, state, and federal government partners. The group's goals are to enhance habitat, reduce urban hazards, and engage our local communities in bird conservation.
