The theme of the year is Black Women Matter Our Bodies Our Babies Our Life; Our Response to The U.S. Maternal Mortality Crisis. A community informed: Safety and Responsiveness during childbirth. Our goal this year is to increase access to mental health screenings and related resources BLACK Mens & Womens Perinatal Mental Health education CPR training & safe sleep. POC: Rosa E. $5KBlack Maternal Health Week - We are the BLACK Collaborative a revolutionary & intentional partnership creating a specialized & holistic ecosystem of care that promotes protects and centers Black health to end disproportionate mortality and morbidity disparities amongst Black Americans. We serve individuals identifying as Black African American women infants children and families who historically have lower breastfeeding rates or suboptimal breastfeeding outcomes who are disproportionately impacted by infant mortality and maternal morbidity. Our desired experience and key takeaways for this event is a BLACK wellness event with mental health leading mindfulness exercises lactation professionals leading conversations on infant nutrition mortality morbidity and health equity birth doula providing support and techniques for birthing postpartum people. We will partner with AmeriHealth Caritas Molina Healthcare & Light of the World Church to host the event at their location.
