Program 1
C project, a california nonprofit public benefit corporation, will organize and present innovative performances in the san francisco bay area to the general public. C project will work with independent curators, performance artists, and performers from around the world. Venues will change based upon the particular needs of the project. C project will actively advertise upcoming projects to the general public in a concerted effort to make the public aware of the project using a sophisticated local and national public relations campaign, a targeted social media program, advertising online and in select print publications. C project will offer performances for free to the public. All of the expenses will be funded by contributions.
Program 2
Projects will be selected entirely based upon their artistic merit, with input from well-known, well respected curatorial advisers. Further, the projects will be selected on a disinterested basis, with no preference given to artists related to c project's directors, officers, or other employees. Artistic and educational value of the art will be emphasized over mass appeal. An important aspect of c project is that it is not limited to any one or two media but may include the visual arts, music, dance, film, and theater. The common bond is that all projects will have a performance aspect. C project's first project was with the icelandic performance artist ragnar kjartansson and was curated by tom eccles. Tom is an internationally-renowned independent curator who is also currently the director of the bard center for curatorial studies.
