The guest curated exhibitions hosted two exhibitions. Each exhibition was attended by upwards of 1200 people during the course of the 3 workspace resident solo, 2 guestcurated shows and the conversation series.

$79KBaxter st's open call for mid-career, lens-based artists supports those artists who fall in between the categories of emerging and established artists. This exhibition series will further baxter st's goal to foster belonging in the cultural sector by offering mid-career lens-based artists a solo exhibition opportunity.
Program 3
$150KBaxter st x youngarts residency:a partnership with national arts nonprofit youngarts and is offered each year to one past youngarts award recipient living in nyc and working in the field of lens-based art. The artist receives same benefits at baxter st residents, with the exception of private workspace access. The resident selected by baxter st & youngarts leadership.family residency at stoneleaf retreat:is a two-week residency for lens-based artists identifying as mothers to take a break from juggling the demands of motherhood and a creative careerwhich often comes without the minimum supports and regular schedule of a traditional office-based position. Hosted in partnership with stoneleaf retreat, a 22-acre retreat in new york's catskill mountains founded by helen toomer and eric romano as a creative space for womxn and families. Are no required deliverables (e.g., solo show, new work, etc.), but the artist has full access to onsite studio. The resident receives two-week accommodations and travel to stoneleaf from nyc area, and art critique with a member of baxter st art advisory board.the next step award supports us-based artists at critical junctures in their artistic development. Reconsidering equity across the country and in arts institutions, the award also supports the presentation of diverse opinions, as well as timely lens-based work that is relevant to today's visual culture and society across a wide array of genres or approaches.
