Statement of Charitable Activity - CHAIS deploys trained K9s that provide pro-bono Search and Rescue SAR and Human Remains Detection HRD in support of local state and federal authorities and victim families. CHAIS also provides security and therapy K9 support for victims of human trafficking as they testify in court against their abusers. CHAIS is exclusively staffed by volunteers and there is no compensation from victims. CHAIS also supported four human remains detection deployments in 2024 including sending a team to support Hurricane Helene relief efforts. CHAIS has developed certification standards for training K9s in Human Remains Detection Search and Rescue and Victim Advocacy.
