The researchers spent two weeks in vietnam meeting with leaders and documenting how the vnbs identified deficiencies, developed a comprehensive plan and implemented the plan. The work product is a case study that can be used by blood systems in developing nations that desire to modernize.

Working with leaders from blood centers across the us, universities, and the national institutes of health, ctf laid the groundwork for such a program.

The researchers worked with 3 blood centers to produce impact studies showing how community blood centers positively impacted the local and state economies in addition to their work supporting the blood transfusion needs of their markets.
