$30KFor 17 years, the institute has sponsored a community art show, "celebrating the possibilities," to bring together youth and adult artists from the region with artists with disabilities or behavioral health challenges. 2023 saw the first hybrid experience of both in-person and online shows. The event in 2024 was, again, hybrid and in-person with more than 400 pieces on display by known and upcoming talented adult and youth artists from across the tri-state area, including the artwork of our very own students and adults of the barber institute. The unique and beautiful artwork included paintings, drawings, sculptures, ceramics, photography, mixed media and works in fiber.
Program 2
$2KThe autism manual is used to educate professionals treating individuals with autism as well as families of children living with the challenges of autism. The manual has been sold to a variety of users such as individuals, bookstores, and colleges which use the book in their curriculum for the behavioral specialist certificate programs. In 2023, an extensive revision of the autism manual was completed, and sales of the revised manual continue in 2024.
