Summer 2023: with a generous performance-based grant from a funder collective led by bloomberg philanthropies, ehtp offered a four-week summer program called summer boost that addressed the academic and social impact of the covid-19 pandemic on our students. Summer boost provided 259 rising 1st- through rising 9th-graders with a robust curriculum with lesson-level detail; and enrichment activities in athletics, arts, robotics/coding, and field trips.running club: with support from the heisman trophy youth development fund, we offered running club to 50 dedicated runners who participated in two 5k and two 10k races during the season, showing remarkable dedication and improvement. This season we had 90 percent participation, reflecting the strength and determination of our scholars and demonstrating the positive impact that structured physical activity and community engagement can have on their growth. Notably, two scholars beat their initial times by at least 60%, resulting in nyc runs sending each a plaque for achieving the best time in their age group.steam: our first robotics competition team, warriors 1880, won the nys regional engineering inspiration award, which qualified them for the world championship competition in houston, tx, april 17th-20th. Nasa provided a grant to cover registration expenses. With more than 800 teams attending the championship, warriors 1880 ranked 47th out of 75 teams in their division with a record of 4-6-0. Additionally, the warriors met with first's diversity and inclusion office to discuss their work promoting stem in east harlem.
