Programs & Activities
Program 1
$862KOrganizing communities program: the organizing communities program convenes, coordinates and facilitates work among american muslim and ally organizations to increase collaboration and build the collective power that is necessary to advance inclusion in america. By convening people of diverse backgrounds to cultivate new relationships, and by investing in individuals and organizations that believe stronger communities are built with mutual trust and collaboration, greater civic participation and engagement can be achieved.
Program 2
$490KBuilding capacity training programs (excluding public narrative): the building capacity (bc) program offers training for mission-aligned nonprofit organizations in key leadership skills and effective management strategies. Nonprofits advancing inclusion of american muslim communities are often under-resourced, and these customized trainings are designed to build sustainable and effective organizations that are key to robust and long term institutional capacity. Nonprofit management training modules help nonprofit leaders learn how to lead effectively by employing best practices to achieve high performance within their organizations.
Program 3
$371KPublic narrative (pn) program: the public narrative program equips cross-sector leaders in the art of translating values into action. It is a discursive process through which individuals, communities, and nations learn to make choices, construct identity, and inspire action. Through the use of public narrative, leaders learn how to articulate and leverage their experiences to mobilize others to action and achieve positive social change. In addition to being an effective communication and organizing tool, public narrative is also a leadership practice that builds intersectional solidarity that enables leaders to achieve their missions.
Program 4
$326KAdvancing inclusion program: the advancing inclusion program seeks to promote its vision of a society where everyone can achieve the american dream in a diverse and inclusive world. This program advances inclusion of and within american muslim communities by investing financial, physical and relational resources in leaders and organizations who share our vision of a world in which all individuals, regardless of race, religion, or gender have an opportunity to thrive. The program encourages public support of and engagement in this work by convening cross-sector leadership to recognize and uplift achievements that serve as models for current and future nonprofit leaders to contribute to a more pluralistic america.
