$9.3MFood bank (sioux falls, rapid city and pierre) - surplus and salvage food is brought to our distribution centers and is distributed to other non-profit organizations that operate on-site food service or nutrition programs throughout the state of south dakota.
Program 2
$8.9MFeeding south dakota administers two usda commodity programs for the state of south dakota. Those programs include: the emergency food assistance program (tefap) and the commodity supplemental food program (csfp). Tefap provided commodity products to qualified emergency feeding programs. Csfp provided supplemental food boxes to low-income, eligible seniors.
Program 3
$1.6MOur backpack, wellness, and school pantry programs provide at-risk children with nutritious, easy-to-prepare food. Through the backpack program, approximately 4,200 children were served statewide each week during the school year. During fiscal year 2024, our school food pantry program distributed over 158,000 pounds of food and our wellness pantry distributed over 130,000 pounds of food in sioux falls and the rapid city area.
