$34KOne of the principal mandates of the foundation's mission is to produce and maintain a publication series in both print and digital mediums. Due to costs and efficiency, a large portion of the foundation's output was refocused to digital formats. The second volume of the foundation's online publication, relations: occasional papers in colonial studies, was released this year. The topic was"early blacksmithing in illinois." the third is in production.
Program 2
$17KAnother principal element of the foundation's mission is to provide online access to archival and archaelogical data, for use by scholars and the general public. This consists of compling digital records, posting them on the website, and fulfilling research requests for files too large to post online. This year saw an expansion of both online resources (records affiliated with early american cahokia and french peoria fo instance) as well as the number of research requests (principally for the massive kaskaskia manuscripts collection.
Program 3
$2KA new element was introduced to our programming in 2024 that is public outreach in the form of on-site lectures, tours and exhibits. In this instance, these took place at the historic pillsbury mill in springfield, illinois. Working in association with the not-for-profit moving pillsbury forward. The foundation produced programming about early milling in springfield and developed on-site historical programming.
