The other 8 FHCCA programs that contributed to the cultural and civic life of our community during 2024 were Civic Affairs, Community Garden, AED, Encore for More, Leadership Academy, Non-Profit Network, Poinsettia Tree, and Public Art. Civic Affairs put on 3 election candidate forums for mayor, town council, and school board with total 650 attendees. The Community Garden held 8 Healing-Cooking events with 500 attendees, hosted a successful 7th Anniversary Celebration, and installed most of the dozen pallets of pavers that volunteers salvaged from the former Garden location, to complete the New Garden improvements, donating a few leftover pallets to Ft. McDowell. Encore for More conducted more than 45 bingo sessions with attendance often at 100+, held four Speakers talks with attendance of 250, and ran three free senior Field Trips with attendance of 150. Leadership Academy graduated 11 in its 9th class, with 116 graduates now serving community non-profits and Town Commissions. Poinsettia Tree attracted more supporters than ever before to its centerpiece display among all the Ave of the Fountains Plaza holiday decorations. Public Art continued with its second annual outdoor art gallery exhibit for the mural wall at Fountain Park. This year's 7 finalist's art were again transposed onto 4'h x 8'w horizontal Dibond brushed metal panels. The long-awaited Fountain of Light sculpture created by local artist Brian Schader was installed upon its pedestal in its prime location in the Ave of the Fountains Plaza across from Town Hall, and was dedicated September 25, 2024 by the Public Art Committee. This magnificent 42' high glass and steel sculpture is a replica tribute to the iconic fountain at the center of the lake in Fountain Park just a few blocks away
