Direct costs to run the following websites:defensemap.com: america and many other countries face major challenges in securing the rights of defendants and inmates, especially if the defendants and inmates are poor. Of special significance is that defendants and inmates have lacked a way to uncover and present their backstories, full defenses, and mitigation. Two related challenges have been the current criminal justice system's (1) failure to afford the defense the constitutionally required "balance of forces" with prosecution and police and (2) failure to provide indigent people representation comparable to that purchased by wealthy persons.**see general explanation statement for continuation of description**

Program 2

Earning another look (eal): this is the only program of freedom 22 not of a website development variety. It involves giving free sentence modification guidance and legal representation to indigent indiana inmates who have amassed (or have expressed an interest in amassing) outstanding records of self-improvement while incarcerated. In 2023 it was decided that eal would limit its work to mitigation advisement and no longer offer the possibility of taking on actual legal representation of any inmates.
