Publications this activity covered the writing of the publications for the freelands artist programme and other artist development projects.

Annual symposiumthe freelands artist programme which was established in september 2018 to support emerging artists based in each of the 4 uk nations. Each partner organisation is running a 5 year programme supporting 5 new artists each year for a two year duration. Each artist receives an annual grant of 5,000 gbp and the total spend over the 5 years will be over 1,500,000 gbp. The annual symposium is designed to bring all fap partners together with the intention of sharing, collaborating and inspiring each other.

Education projectsthe education team have helped to create the shift programme, whereby short films are produced sharing varied practices, approaches and philosophies within art education. There is also make, a 2-week residency for artist teachers and art educators that takes place in the gallery space. A discussion forum known as artist-teacher for art teachers and educators is held bi-monthly providing the space for artist teachers to explore the principles of teaching as artistic practice, sharing projects as well as working collaboratively to develop new ideas.
