The Carriage Road maintenance grants help to make possible the salaries of several Acadia National Park workers who perform regular maintenance of the park's 44 miles of historic carriage roads. In 2024, the carriage road crew patched washouts, graded 15 miles of carriage roads, and spread 300 tons of surface materials. They cleaned several miles of road ditches, flushed culverts, and performed overhead and ground-cutting along the Amphitheatre Loop.

Additionally, Friends of Acadia contributes to a variety of community outreach events such as Take Pride in Acadia and Earth Day Roadside Clean-up. In partnership with Acadia National Park, Friends implements and contributes to other programs including the Summit Stewards, the Wild Garden of Acadia, the Acadia Winter Trails Association, invasive plant eradication, Acadia Quest, the peregrine falcon and hawk watch program, Acadia Teacher Fellows Program, water quality monitoring and a volunteer program that typically contributes over 5,000 hours of time per year to help maintain Acadia's trails and carriage roads. Friends of Acadia helped ANP address the ongoing seasonal employee housing shortage. In 2024 $7 million in funding was provided to ANP to assist in the building of 28 new one bedroom and studio apartments at Harden Farm. Friends of Acadia also funded the construction White Birches, a new campground to be used specifically by park employees consisting of 13 RV pads that each have a water source, electricity, and septic services. Friends of Acadia hosts an annual meeting each summer to brief the membership on the fiscal health of the organization and provide highlights of the successes of the prior year.
