$25KIn the field of Education Assistance Friends of Kowak FOK partners with private and public schools in Northwest Tanzania to provide financial aid volunteer support and communication assistance. The main objective is to help underprivileged students access educational opportunities. By working closely with school leaders and community members FOK identifies students in need assesses their eligibility for aid and ensures support reaches them effectively. FOKs committed team oversees fund distribution monitors academic performance and offers mentorship to recipients. Regular communication is upheld to provide continuous guidance. During the reporting period FOK assisted 45 students in schools like Kowak Girls School Baraton Girango and Angel House. This holistic approach guarantees that disadvantaged students receive quality education and the necessary tools to excel academically.

$20KKowak Hospital Support: FOK assists Kowak Hospital administrators and staff to identify equipment and infrastructure needs to design and construct or contract for construction of facilities. This program also administers monthly payments to purchase and distribute nourishment supplements including milk and cereal to infants and children approx 90 children enrolled in the program exposed to HIV or who have been diagnosed with AIDS through the hospitals regional HIV AIDS outpatient clinic.

$18KFriends of Kowak provides funds and volunteer time to provide financial assistance to needy families and children including health and education support. A small stipend is paid to a local administrator to manage such funds and to mentor supported students and monitor their school performance. Masubi managed students
Program 4
$18KIn 2024 Friends of Kowak initiated a program to provide rain water collection systems to households that had no source of clean drinking water. Mostly the women and children were tasked with walking long distances to collect water from public watering holes which are often contaminated and the source of serious and even fatal water-borne illnesses. With funds and volunteer help from FoK a local committee of villagers and personnel from a secondary school in Kowak Village were able to purchase and to assist villagers with construction and operation of 28 water tanks and piping and gutter systems. The program is ongoing with another 30 systems to be constructed by the end of 2025.
