Programs & Activities
Program 1
$477Building improvements at both fire stations. We built in cubbies lockers at both fire stations as many firefighters had no where to hand their turnout fire fighting gear and protective equipment. This allows the response uniform and gear to be more readily accessible and improved response time. The cubbies were built of wood. We also took an empty conex 20 ft container and built shelves and racks so it could be used for equipment storage. We were able to keep cost down due to donated materials and all labor was donated by members. Value added worth probably $3000.
Program 2
$300Replaced worn out floor mats and purchased mats for change areas that didnt have any in both fire stations. This prevented the guys from having to stand on cold wet concrete floors when changing into gear and back into civilian clothes. We bought 11 mats. This made a safer and more comfortable situation for our volunteers that are responding in snow and rain everytime theres a fire or traffic accident.
Program 3
$735Appreciation banquet. We held the first every appreciation banquet for the trego fortine stryker volunteer fire department. This included dinner entertainment recognition and awards for the entire department. The chief said morale has never been as high as after that. It fulfills our intent to foster longevity for our firefighters. We included all firefighters their families and board members. Approximately 70 attended. Our theme was "a night to remember" in which we remembered fire fighting in america back to very beginning the history of tfs fire department and creating memories they will continue to remember well into the future.
Program 4
$323Public relations: we host donation based breakfast set up booths at fairs quilt show local businesses and other community events with multiple purposes that include raising funds for the fire department educating the public on fire safety inform the public of the many contributions from the fire department recruit new members.
