Food relief for families living in extreme poverty: when the pandemic hit in march 2020, approximately 80% of our local community lost their jobs in tourism. As a result, many families were facing a severe economic crisis. In response, futuro brillante created an emergency food relief program starting in march 2020, which is still operating today. While the economy has improved over the last years, many local families still struggle to make ends meet and put food on the table.monthly, we support local families in extreme poverty, with food packages that include essential items, including chicken, vegetables, cleaning products and more. Our reach in 2024 was 26 families, including some one-time assistance.

English classes: since tourism is the main industry in the guanacaste province, fluency in english is one of the top skills required by local employers. Our innovative program ensures that our students are acquiring the skills they need to be competitive in the local job market. During 2024, 66 young people and adults were learning english using the neo platform.

Transportation scholarships for high school students: futuro brillante sponsored the bus fare for the entire academic year for 15 students who did not have the financial means to pay for their transportation to school. This program is designed to prevent high school dropouts.
