Programs & Activities

Program 1

$1.6M

Entrepreneurship world cup (ewc): the ewc supports entrepreneurs with a no-strings-attached cash prize incentive to further develop their ideas and with gen's help and the help of peers, become more likely to succeed. Many of those who apply come from communities where talent is plentiful but opportunity is not. Ewc attracts entrepreneurs who do good while seeking to do well. For example, an increasing number of applicants focus on solutions to everyday problems that improve the environment and help achieve climate and sustainability goals. Resources are spent on supporting entrepreneurs, prizes and the costs of gathering them in person once a year as a peer network.

Program 2

$1.4M

Global entrepreneurship week (gew): gew inspires more americans and citizens from other countries to consider the path of entrepreneurship. Organizations actively supporting entrepreneurs host a festival-type campaign with live and virtual events in communities everywhere that invite ordinary citizens to better understand what local, national and global resources are available to them. Program resources are used to establish partnerships with organizations and volunteer campaign leaders who host activities for the public - especially women and youth and those who have historically been left out from distressed communities in the united states. The campaign is anchored by the kauffman foundation in kansas city.

Program 3

$690K

Gen policy: gen policy brings governments closer to firm founders and the organizations and ecosystems that support them at all stages of the public policy and program lifecycle, from identifying barriers to implementing solutions, offering opportunities for policy dialogue and peer advice, and sourcing evidence-based recommendations that can drive smart policy design and implementation gen also provides live events, including the global entrepreneurship congress (gec). The gec is a gathering of startup champions from around the world - where entrepreneurs, investors, entrepreneurial support organizations, researchers, thought leaders and policymakers share program and policy ideas and work together to bring ideas to life, drive economic growth and expand human welfare.
