Program 1

GLC Annual Meeting on July 23 included information on the conservancy's recent land acquisitions, program updates, and newly initiated mapping project. Educational updates were given on issues important to lake landowners and managers including information on lake health monitioring GLC does through the MiCorps and MLSA Cooperative Lakes Monitoring Project. Info was shared on the rise of potentially toxic algal blooms, invasive species monitoring and management in conjunction with Keweenaw Invasive Species Management Area, and other lake issues.

Program 2

On August 31 "Paddle Gratiot" program included a guided kayak tour of the north shore of the Gratiot Lake with stops along the way on GLC land, including the Noblet Field Station. Local geology, lake ecology, historic cabin tour, and info about GLC programs were shared with participants.

Program 3

GLC organized a Shoreline Clean Up at Gratiot Lake in September in conjunction with the Alliance for the Great Lakes. GLC shares info on types of trash collected to educate about human impact and best stewardship of lakes.

Program 4

Virtual Book Club and Yearly Newsletter - GLC planned, publicized, and moderated four virtual meetings of the GLC Book Club. GLC Book Club has 17 members and is open to the public to join. GLC also produces a yearly newsletter "Waters Edge" which is distributed digitally to over 450 and print copies mailed to 200. This always includes information about ecology of the area and information about good practices for stewardship. In addition, it includes information about GLC land and trails open to the public.
