A heated recirculating watering system was designed to replace the individual poultry drinkers, which freeze rapidly in cold weather and have to be rotated one or more times daily to maintain the availability of fresh water while the frozen drinkers are thawed in a heated indoor space. Solar powered circulation fans were installed to improve ventilation in the chicken and turkey housing during the warm months.

The 180 year old barn, thought to be unique in the northeast with its internal silo and large granary, required maintenance and repair due to deterioration. The barn had previously received a new roof and foundation work made possible by a matching grant from the new york state historic barn preservation program, but was sustaining weather damage due to deteriorated doors and windows. Minor repairs were made and temporary weather barriers installed to protect the interior until windows and doors could be rebuilt or replaced in 2025.

Cabinetry and materials salvaged from the farmhouse renovation were repurposed to develop the woodworking and forestry equipment shop, allowing for storage and organization of tools and supplies necessary for foundation property maintenance and management operations.
