$1KEcological education: Six 6th-grade outdoor-school classes were each provided with a day of ecological education. Tours were also provided for rangeland ecology and biology classes from Eastern Oregon University.

$2KArboretum maintenance and research: Mountain ladys slipper orchid plots were maintained and several more established. Two research programs were continued to study orchid seed germination and early growth.

$2KMaintenance of the field station facilities: Snow was plowed obstructing tree branches were trimmed.
