$87KBUSINESS CONTRACT DEVELOPMENT/SUPPLIER DIVERSITY HIE has established a partnership and Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) to increase procurement opportunities, C-suite recruitment, and access to capital for Hispanic Business Enterprises (HBEs) and Hispanic and Latino professionals of all races and nationalities to further evolve in the energy sector. The procurement opportunities involve Hispanic business enterprises (HBEs), energy companies, and government entities. Partners are committed to identifying and addressing certification, procurement, and supplier diversity issues in the energy sector to improve these mechanisms for HBEs to access supply chains.

$32KWORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT Hispanics In Energy (HIE) promotes partnerships and strategic alliances to expand and ensure diversity, equity, and success of Hispanics and Latinos of all races and nationalities, in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) education and energy-related programs, internships, and workforce development opportunities. HIE has established a partnership and memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU), provides conference presentations to increase diversity, equity, and inclusion of Hispanics of all races and ethnicities in energy-related workforce development programs. HIE champions and actively participates in public-private collaborative partnerships and programs that support STEM-related activities, training, conferences, and internships.

$23KLEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT & COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENTHIE is committed to increasing representation and helping prepare Hispanics and Latinos of all races and nationalities for leadership roles in energy-related fields and community settings. HIE seeks to reach a demographically proportional level of representation by addressing the current dearth of Hispanic representation on public utility commissions and in energy-related leadership positions. HIE engages with community-based organizations, corporations and small businesses, schools, colleges, and universities, legislators, and policymakers, and importantly - the US Department of Energy, to help ensure that Hispanics and Latinos of all races and nationalities reach demographically proportional parity in quality STEM education, government employment opportunities, appointments to high-level government leadership positions, and funding opportunities.
