The hbcu sustainable communities initiative (hbcu sci) fosters thriving communities by preparing hbcu talent for careers in sustainability. Each year, the program serves approximately 150 hbcu students through academic success webinars, a mentorship program, scholarships, and paid internships. Students learn first-hand about sustainability issues through a series of workshops and sustainability-related internships.

Inroads' college links program works with diverse high school students to help them explore careers, develop essential leadership skills, and prepare for college, particularly in stem (science, technology, engineering, and math) and business fields. The program is open to students of all backgrounds but is targeted to youth from under resourced schools, students of color, students from immigrant families, students from families with low incomes, and first-generation college students. College links is designed to give scholars broad exposure to the work world and the college world they will one day enter, ensure high school graduation, and increase college success. Continued on schedule othe program also helps develop a pipeline of highly skilled, diverse candidates entering high demand, high wage careers. Through intervention and support for students at a critical time in their development, college links helps students build self-awareness, confidence, and critical thinking skills. Program served 1910 students in 18 cities accross the country.
