Program 2
$250KManagement & administration of jack maddox distinguished scholarship program. Refer to website at www.jfmaddox.org jack maddox distinguished scholarship program: an independent scholarship selection committee screens applications, selects up to 15 semifinalists to interview, then choose five finalists. Finalists are interviewed and one is selected to receive the jack maddox distinguished scholarship award which pays full tuition, required fees, textbooks, and room & board. The remaining four finalists receive a $20,000 scholarship for four years of undergraduate study. To support the five scholars in acceptance to their school of choice they are also provided a college counselor, cost reimbursement for attending a regional college fair, and up to $250 for college application fees. All semi-finalists receive a notebook computer.
Program 3
$147KThe Maddox Leadership Institute is a nine-month, evidence-informed leadership development program that builds individual knowledge, skills, and self-efficacy in aspiring community leaders. The program is taught by faculty from the J.W. Fanning Institute for Leadership Development out of the University of Georgia. The program is skill-building intensive, with special attention to instructional delivery catered to adult learning preferences.

$45Kthe Hobbs Campaign for Grade-Level Reading has formed a coalition of community partners who are committed to ensuring early school success by addressing experiences holistically and focusing on community-driven initiatives to help children and families. The JF Maddox Foundation has partnered with stakeholders from the Hobbs Municipal School District, the City of Hobbs, United Way of Lea County, Literacy Coalition of the Permian Basin, University of the Southwest, New Mexico Junior College, Nor-Lea Hobbs Medical Clinic, Hobbs Public Library, and others, to come together to give our youth tools to increase academic achievement and improve their literacy rates.
