$4.7MNetwork Mobilization Network Mobilization is a core strategy designed to connect and activate organizations, leaders, and communities around shared goals that advance health equity across Kansas. Rather than supporting isolated efforts, KHF invests in networks that build collective capacity, coordinate strategies, and amplify impact. This work currently centers on three issue areas that address key social determinants of health: 2024: Food Insecurity 2025: Upward Mobility Expenditure Highlights $3,976,497 in grants to support Kansas' economic and social determinant initiatives and cross-state collaborations. $757,485 for program-related activities and internal operations. Launch of Hunger Free Kansas, a statewide coordinating entity to address food insecurity. Funding for the Food Secure Communities initiative in eight Kansas counties. Co-creation of the Blueprint to End Hunger with over 100 stakeholders statewide. $2 million investment in innovation and local action, supporting 100 small-scale community projects and four regional collaborations. Supported creation of a statewide landscape analysis, data walk, and crowdsourced report on hunger and food insecurity.

$2.0MPolicy & Systems Mobilization This strategy aims to: Simplify policy investments for greater impact. Strengthen KHF's commitment to eliminating inequities. Achieve meaningful policy outcomes that improve the health of Kansans. KHF funds multiple organizations focused on policy and systems change, fostering collaboration to amplify their collective influence. Expenditure Highlights $1,275,000 in core support grants to policy partners. $225,000 to non-core partners supporting policy initiatives statewide. $534,721 for program-related activities and internal operations. Significant Achievements Launch of Leadership in Public Service Programming in partnership with the Kansas Leadership Center-equipping newly elected officials and aspiring leaders with the skills and tools needed for public service. First Summer School for Policy Partners, a convening designed to promote collaboration, shared learning, and growth across the policy network.
Program 3
$6.6MInstitution Building The Foundation has a long history of creating organizations focused on improving the health of Kansans. This strategy continues that tradition by supporting existing and emerging organizations aligned with KHF's mission. Expenditure Highlights A multi-year core support grant of $6,000,000 was awarded to an organization that trains and promotes leadership skills to effect change and make Kansas a healthier state. $578,178 was expended for the Foundation's program-related activities and internal operations. Significant Achievements Deepened relationships with major institutional partners. Strengthened strategic engagement through structured sessions, including strategy huddles and a monthly Touchpoints series. Conducted tailored briefings and reflective sessions with partners to align shared values and goals. Co-developed objectives and strategic framing documents to guide future collaboration. Overall, 2024 marked a year of intentional relationship-building, strategic alignment, and organizational development.
