Grants totaling $7500 to two local animal rescues: Speranza Animal Rescue which specializes with abandoned animals: dogs horses sheep goats cows zebra camel etc but not cats and finds foster homes and permanent homes for them. Homeward Bound Animal Rescue which rescues pregnant dogs keeps them until pups are born and after pups welp finds homes for puppies and moms.

Grant of $5000 to the National Quilt Museum located in Paducah KY. Designated the National Quilt Museum by Congress the museum houses the finest quilts made in the past 35 years displays the quilts for public view provides traveling shows to other museums presents speakers lectures and classes relating to the art of quilting.
