High school & community college scholarship program - the lafayette rotary club provides academic scholarships for up to 5 graduating high school seniors to help support their 1st year of college, and for up to 10 vocational students enrolled in the local community college. School guidance counselors have the necessary application forms to use as part of their overall responsibilities to help provide opportunities for students in the local high schools and students in community college. In both cases, panels of rotary club members select the scholarship winners, based on the selection criteria established by the club. Scholarship winners and their families are invited to an awards luncheon where they are appropriately recognized. This year, 4 college scholarships of 1,000 each were awarded, including one to purdue university, one to indiana university, one to new york university, and one to depauw university. Seven vocational scholarships of 1,000 each were awarded to students attending ivy tech community college.
