$50KThe leffingwell foundation provided direct foundational literacy instruction through a partnership with the "i have a dream" foundation of boulder county, and through small group tutoring in the community. Small group literacy tutoring was provided to the students in the altitude cohort in their after school programming on mondays and wednesdays once the leffingwell foundation was awarded operating foundation status. The leffingwell foundation provided coaching and consulting services by supporting program directors at ihdf with their understanding and implementation of the university of florida literacy institute program, by modeling instruction, sharing informative videos of effective implementation, teaching how to utilize the accompanying materials such as decodable texts, books, games and activities. The leffingwell foundation also found and created new games and materials to support instruction and cater to the varying learning styles of a diverse group of students.

$46KThe leffingwell foundation conducted foundational literacy and math screenings in the cities of longmont, lafayette, and louisville. The leffingwell foundation partnered with the "i have a dream" foundation to support with the administration of 188 screeners (47 beginning of year literacy screeners, 47 end of year literacy screeners, 47 beginning of year math screeners, and 47 end of year math screeners) for two cohorts of students (the altitude class and the mountain view class). To support this initiative, the leffingwell foundation provided direct hours in the after school programs conducting screeners, and co-led the screening training for the "i have a dream" foundation's volunteer screeners. Additionally, the leffingwell foundation created materials aligned with the screeners to support program directors implementing the curriculum advance in the skills evaluated.
