Programs & Activities
Program 1
$1.7MThe los rios colleges foundation provided support to college departments and programs during the 2023-24 academic year. These resources allow college faculty, staff and administrators to improve existing programs, experiment with new and innovative approaches and support student success. The los rios colleges foundation provides philanthropic support to the four los rios colleges, american river, cosumnes river, folsom lake and sacramento city, and the harris center for the arts, by serving as the vehicle through which individuals and organizations may invest in the los rios colleges and their students, departments and programs.
Program 2
$143KThanks to generous corporate and individual donors, lrcf continued to remove barriers for students through the promise initiative. The los rios promise scholarships provided $500 awards to first-time, full-time students with high financial need. Promise to career scholarships helped students in construction and allied health programs prepare for high-paying, high-quality jobs and meet the demand in the region for skilled workers. The scholarships encourage students to enroll and complete these critical educational pathways by removing barriers like necessary program equipment and state testing.
Program 3
$94KThe los rios colleges foundation gratefully receives gifts of real estate, goods and equipment in support of academic and student programs. In-kind gifts this year provided students with real world, hands on opportunities and the tools needed for workforce success. Notable gifts included wine for the culinary program/cafe, business attire for the clothing closet to support students who are preparing for interviews or a new job, arts supplies and a letterpress to enhance arts rograms, and cars to benefit automotive programs. Many of these gifts come from generous industry partners who understand the value of hiring skilled employees educated at the los rios colleges.
