Program 1

$5K

On march 10, 2025, approximately 100 arabs and jews participated in a special iftar (break fast meal during ramadan) that embodies the spirit of the holiday. The event was organized and designed by marcia's light foundation and involved, among other things, jewish educators who teach hebrew to arab students. The event fostered dialogue, mutual understanding, and coexistence among young adults and grownups from diverse backgrounds. In light of the current climate, such initiatives play a crucial role in bridging divides, promoting respect for religious traditions, and fostering positive interfaith interactions. The iftar took place at the sirag restaurant, kfar kassim, israel. It involved an iftar meal, discussions and special gifts provided by marcia's light.

Program 2

$9K

In a continuation of a project commenced in 2024 marcia's light collaborated with tel aviv university in designing theatre projects between 10 jewish and arab students from tel aviv university (tau) and 16 arab students from el-hiat high school in kfar kassim. There were 4 sessions with the students visiting each other's institutions. The main theme of the program was to build relationships through theatre and a focus on arab-jewish relations, with emphasis on identity, sister languages, stereotypes, fears, shared life experiences, and more. The high school and tau students worked together in every session to create a short theatrical performance that reflected the topics and experiences they were exploring together. The creative processes served as a tool for dialogue, reflection, and emotional processing and provided a structured framework grounded in applied theatre practices. Facilitated by both jewish and arab instructors, the program fostered understanding through collaboration
