$89KPromotions [Promotions & Design Committees]In 2024, the Montclair Village Association expanded its marketing, events, and community promotion efforts to increase district foot traffic and economic activity. The Association produced six major eventsincluding Taste of Montclair Village (Restaurant Walk), the Montclair Beer, Wine & Music Festival (MBWMF), Halloween Fun Run and Festival, the Holiday Stroll, and two outdoor movie nightsdrawing approximately 75,000 attendees to the Village throughout the year. An additional 61 non-MVA events (such as Cinco de Mayo, ArtWalk, and the weekly Farmers Market) received in-kind marketing and logistical support valued at $20,000.Digital engagement remained a core focus. The MVA maintained a 3,700-member email list (57 percent open rate), 3,500 Facebook followers, and 2,500 Instagram followers, producing nearly 170 posts per platform and achieving over 260,000 combined impressions. The Association advertised in the Oakland Inspiration Guide and distributed seasonal Village Shopping & Dining Guides to promote local businesses and encourage Shop Local ~ Shop Montclair values. Through its Montclair Cares Club, the MVA expanded community donors supporting public-safety and cultural-arts events. These efforts strengthened business visibility, boosted economic activity, and enhanced the Villages sense of community identity.

$45KSafety / Security [Economic Restructuring]The Montclair Village Association sustained and strengthened its public-safety programs throughout 2024 to ensure a secure environment for merchants, residents, and visitors. The Association oversaw 605 patrol hours and 400 non-patrol administrative hours dedicated to safety, coordinating closely with the Oakland Police Department and the neighborhood council (Beat 13Z NCPC). The districts comprehensive network of 62 high-definition security cameras with license-plate-recognition capability continued to operate at key intersections and facilities. In 2024, the MVA provided footage for 55 incidents to OPD, merchants, and insurance companies.The Associations Holiday Safety Ambassador Program provided additional daytime and overnight patrol coverage during the 2023/2024 holiday season, reducing reported incidents by 40 percent over the prior year. The MVA continued its collaboration with OPD walking officers and merchant watch groups to apply Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) principles and educate merchants on deterrence strategies. Through these efforts, the MVA fostered a visible, professional security presence and built community trust in the Villages commitment to public safety.
