Program 1
$240KJob Creation - Live and Work in the Gulfton/Sharpstown area. In 2020, Connect launched a program mobilizing the talents of local seamstresses and tailors to make masks to sell to the public during the COVID-19 pandemic. Allowing Gulfton area residents to earn extra income while helping protect all of Houston. Connect now runs a 9-month training program for industrial sewing with ESL, digital literacy, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship. In addition, Connect has HTX Sewn Goods, which is a white-label production arm of Connect, providing prototyping and labor for designers/inventors seeking to have their products fabricated in Houston.
