National recreation foundation hosted a series of virtual capacity-building workshops/trainings for grantees in 2023 on various subjects, including: building a theory of change, strategic planning fundamentals, evaluation practices & principles, succession planning, workplace culture & retention, and trauma training for youth development staff & volunteers working with indigenous youth. The foundation hosted several cohorts of facilitated peer leadership circles for grantees to support nonprofit leaders in building peer networks. Additionally, nrf provided program evaluation support to grantees through a relationship with university researchers specializing in outdoor recreation program evaluation. These workshops, trainings and coaching are offered at no cost to participants.
