Communication/connectivity: newmusicbox is new music usa's award-winning online publication devoted to new music. It is a gathering place for composers, performers, educators, and appreciators, and is committed to providing music creators and the new music community a place to speak thoughtfully in their own voices. In fy 24 newmusicbox released soundlives podcasts on approximately a monthly basis which featured interviews of new music composers and practitioners and included video and multi-media content. Additional content included longform articles by artist-writers and journalists (looseleaf notebook), columns written by guest contributors (out of the box), new music news from across the country (different cities, different voices), and themed series addressing issues that artists face (new music toolbox/how-tos).
