$243KIn fiscal 2024, we entered our third year of the legacy fund. The purpose of this fund allows philanthropic dollars and volunteer outreach to go directly towards supporting and preserving greater cleveland's most visible and vital pillars of our italian american heritage. The first pillar is our italian parishes. Our fund supported holy redeemer, holy rosary, our lady of mt. Carmel, and st. Rocco. Below summarizes how the parishes allocated their gifted money: holy redeemer: 100th anniversary celebrations of the parish.(continued on schedule o)holy rosary: new air conditioning and repairs to the heating system boiler pipes. Our lady of mt. Carmel: church parking lot repairs.st. Rocco: security system for the daily mass and updates to parish office monitors. The second pillar is our high scholarship program. We offer our leadership scholarship to italian american students who demonstrate a passion for giving back, helping others, and taking an active role in ensuring our local italian american community continues to thrive. Our 4 years/$5,000 annual and renewable scholarship encourages educational achievement, cultural experiences, leadership, and service-values that are important to noia and the italian american community. We have student recipients from archbishop hoban, elyria catholic, padua franciscan, st. Ignatius, ndcl, saint vincent saint mary, saint joseph academy and walsh jesuit high schools.in our junior and sophomore classes have four students each. Our freshmen class has nine students. The third pillar is cleveland's little italy. We are continuing to reinvest in our local and historical italian neighborhood. We are dedicated to ensuring safe surroundings for our visitors and want to see a thriving environment for a place that many native italians call home. Dollars were used for our beautification of the neighborhood and executing decisions for the area. The fourth pillar is our responsive grants. These grants seek to advance italian influenced artistic and community ventures that align with our mission. This year we were able to support tobar medieval - a small band of voices and instruments dedicated to bringing medieval music to modern audiences.
