NORTH CAROLINA ACADEMY OF FAMILY

The foundation, with funds provided by united healthcare, established the family medicine practice telemedicine and medical scribe pilot program to support small medical practices which are continuing to implement telehealth. The program will provide funding of $100,000 to three participating practices. The program funds are to be used to hire new scribes or medical assistants for a year-long project to better integrate in-person and virtual visits into the practices' clinical workflows. By increasing the efficiency of these visits, the participating practices can increase access to medical care in our state's rural and underserved areas.
