OPEN EARTH FOUNDATION

Openclimate - openclimate is an open source and digitally integratedclimate accounting system designed to help the world achieve theemission reduction targets set by the paris agreement. Its purpose isto remove friction between different standards, reducing doublecounting and catalysing coordination towards climate goals. Wepresented the first full prototype climate accounting system at thecop26 and deployed a pilot of our openclimate platform with the british columbia government.

We have designed a draft system for marine ecosystem credits for financing marine protected areas and have been working to create an infrastructure design that can increase conservation finance through transparent natural capital accounting in oceans, and maintain high biodiversity levels. We also have been exploring how natural capital can extend to innovations in monetary systems for nature rich global south countries. Our partnership with the united nations framework convention on climate change is supporting the design and development of the unfccc global innovation hub, or ugih.
