Accomplishments in 2024 include:The new Hormonally.org website attracted 4,900 new users from 86 countries with over 13,000 visits.In addition to the extensive website resources, Hormonally developed several other programs including the Menopause Access Initiative including a Directory of Clinics and Virtual Vulva including a Vulva map used by clinicians.Outreach initiatives resulted in successfully partnering with eight different businesses (for-profit and nonprofit) to broaden reach and raise awareness of Hormonally, collaboration on an in-person event in New York to raise awareness of the importance of contraception not just as birth control but as a health intervention for many other conditions, and delivery of a menopause educational session.Representatives of Hormonally attended a UK Parliamentary Round Table disc

$253KAnimal welfare and alternative sterilization methodsParsemus Foundation has supported research and advocacy on alternatives to traditional sterilization methods, providing extensive information on our website for pet owners. Key focus areas have been on hormone-sparing sterilization and hormone restoration in dogs. The foundation also offers information on enhanced animal welfare standards and treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia.The foundation serves as a primary resource for information on hormone-sparing sterilization options for dogs, including management of a directory of veterinarians who offer alternative sterilization procedures for pets. This resource had over 23,000 visits in 2024.A funded research study on the use of testosterone for spay-neuter syndrome in dogs was completed in 2024. The results were compiled, and a scientific manuscript was submitted for publication in December.Parsemus works with a consortium of veterinarians to coordinate efforts to create and expan

$35KMale contraception, family planning, and agingParsemus Foundation supported contraception, family planning initiatives, and healthy aging in 2024. The main focus was oversight of the development of the Vasalgel male contraceptive.The foundation continued to consult with NEXT Life Sciences, the organization that licensed the Vasalgel technology. This included monthly meetings, evaluation of progress, and coordination of media efforts. The company has made significant progress on Plan A, the name of the NEXT Life Sciences product using Vasalgel technology.The progress on programs made possible by gifts from the foundation to a family planning organization continued to be monitored.A contribution to the Male Contraception Initiatives Youth Advisory Board was made in 2024.The study on lithium orotate for Alzheimers prevention was completed by the University of Saskatchewan. $41KInfectious disease research and advocacyParsemus Foundation supports the dissemination of the COVID-OUT clinical trial results, which reported the benefits of metformin to treat COVID-19 symptoms and Long COVID. The foundation finished the publicity efforts around the publication of the Long COVID results by the University of Minnesota. Information and resources continued to be updated throughout 2024.The non-specific effects of vaccines and evidence-based health information were topics of interest on our social media, blogs, and newsletters. New information was also added to the website resources as available.
