PEACE OF MIND FOUNDATION INC

Continued from activity one above:the peace of mind foundation has re-designed the website to include new videos, content, and materials on ocd and related disorders. They also provided referrals to therapists who treat ocd nationwide. When special considerations are needed, such as a sliding scale, or someone who has a complex dual diagnosis, the foundation helps to find a therapist who can treat more complex cases. The website has been comletely reformatted and launched in february 2015. The foundation continues to make improvements by adding new educational videos and content to the webiste. The website currently has 116,883 users accessing the site by over 181 countries. The educational videos have been viewed over 47,414 times.

During 2020, peace of mind attended the annual international ocd foundation (iocdf) conference online, where they sponsored 100 individuals to attend. This conference allows people suffering from ocd and their loved ones to experience the latest ocd information alongside professionals who can care for them. In addition, pom has presented in front of several significant groups. The peace of mind foundation provided the ocd 101 training for 435 mental health professionals and counselors including wham, sun behavioral health, ajana therapy and clinical services, moore mental health services, humble area assistance ministries, peabody residential services, humble isd, and uh caps.

Peace of mind foundation also serves as a public information and dissemination collection center for information related to ocd and other mental health diseases. They also contribute to research and development regarding mental health issues. Foundation members write, print and circulate a newsletter where people can sign up through the pom website. The feature article is on some aspect of ocd. The newsletter also disseminates recent news and events on ocd and mental health issues and awareness. The foundation e-publishes a newsletter periodically throughout the year, and now has approximately 5,281 subscribers. The organization also helps people start support groups in their area and disseminate brochures developed by pom. These brochures go to doctors' offices and the support groups around the country and canada. In addition, pom provides educational books and workbooks to people who request them.
