Lib lab - perspective fund's infrastructure grantee convening series, facilitated by rise wilson, continued its multi-year commitment to building a robust learning community within the documentary impact field. Building on the success of 2021 and 2022 convenings that engaged 48 individuals from 24 grantee organizations, the two-year initiative (may 2023-may 2025) delivered between 5-10 virtual convening sessions, each lasting up to 4 hours. The series provided structured opportunities for grantees to share challenges, workshop collaborative solutions, and connect with field experts offering tactical support and thought leadership, while incorporating accessibility reviews and diverse engagement formats including breakout sessions, speaker presentations, and full cohort conversations.

Marjan safinia - perspective fund commissioned a comprehensive us field advocacy mapping project to systematically catalog and analyze documentary advocacy initiatives addressing industry challenges including inequality, unsustainability, and unethical practices. The six-month initiative engaged a lead consultant working with perspective fund's infrastructure program officer and a three-member advisory group to conduct extensive stakeholder interviews, literature reviews, and field research. The project identified and mapped advocacy organizations and initiatives across the us documentary film industry, collecting detailed data on their goals, activities, partnerships, deliverables, timelines, and resource needs through a carefully designed research methodology developed in consultation with field experts.
