Instructional leadership academy is a one-year program that supports philadelphia principals with a focus on foundational teaching and learning best practices to drive results for students. Pasl partners with the achievement network (anet) to provide principals with monthly professional development and individualized coaching. During the one-year program, participants:- set goals, work towards them, and measure progress against core academic goals.- develop instructional systems and structures around coaching, professional learning, and data use for school-wide academic improvement.- build your coaching, planning/facilitation, and data analysis skills and then turn key learnings to develop your own staff.- develop a diverse network of principal colleagues to learn from and alongside.- participate in monthly development sessions with other participants, including: - a two-day in-person program - monthly in-person sessions during the school year (3 hours each).- actively engage in 1.5 hours of individualized coaching from a designated instructional leadership coach (on-site and virtual).

Our senior fellow programming offers a range of post fellowship opportunities designed to support school and system leaders. These include: - black educator pipeline - a learning arc, led by senior fellows sharif el-mekki (cohort 1), ceo of the center for black educator development, and raymond fields (cohort 4), executive director of urban teachers philadelphia, focuses on the recruitment, selection, development, and support of black educators in order to deepen and expand the pipeline. Structured for learning within a racial affinity group, in the 2023-2024 programming, the faculty team is expanding to support white senior fellows; this white affinity group will be led by jeff glowik, director of clinical faculty for american university in partnership with urban teachers philadelphia and former principal of mastery charter schoolgratz campus. Affinity groups will meet separately for some sessions or parts of sessions based on the topic and focus of work.- breakthrough results collaborative is a yearlong program for senior fellows and members of their school teams. Principals participate in monthly development sessions with other participants, including: - a one-day in-person kick-off over the summer (july 2023). - monthly in-person sessions during the school year (3 hours each).participants actively engage in approximately 4 hours of individualized coaching from a designated leadership coach (on-site and virtual) as well as participate in "in the field experiences" to learn from your colleagues in context.
