PI BETA PHI FOUNDATION

Pi beta phi foundation funds a broad array of programs designed to benefit the fraternity, its members and the community at large. Leadership programming educates undergraduate women and alumnae to develop the next generation of leaders equipped to serve their communities and to combat illiteracy, so that pi phi can work towards its mission to contribute to the betterment of society. Scholarships assist women in undergraduate and graduate school programs, as well as alumnae continuing education awards. There were 104 awards totaling $306,046 made in fy24-25. Specific philanthropic programs assist individuals in dire financial distress, support the heritage and history of holt house and provide assistance for educational area grant programs for specific chapter housing, and provide essential support for pi phi's literacy efforts, including champions are readers, arrow in the arctic, and first book. Literally tens of thousands of children were assisted through pi phi's literacy efforts in fy24-25.

Leadership is at the core of pi beta phi, dating back to its foundingin 1867 in monmouth, il. Pi beta phi has been a leader in developingwomen of intellect, courage, integrity and committed to service. It wasthis focus on leadership that enabled pi beta phi to be the first greeklettered organization to adopt its own philanthropy in 1912. Today,leadership programming is a key part of the membership experience atall levels of the organization, from undergraduate collegians toalumnae of all ages. Every leadership program offered by pi beta phifraternity for women is supported in some way by pi beta phi foundationgrants. These programs include pi phi's trademarked leading with valuesprogramming, critical conversations, leadership academies andconvention, online learning, leadership institute preparing young womento make the impossible the inevitable, and the leadership developmentconsultant program. Leadership programming educates undergraduate womenand develops the next generation of leaders, creating impact on ourcommunities, families and leading the way to fight illiteracy.
