Family and education - the rcf family economic security & education team primarily engages in grantmaking efforts to support non-profit organizations and education systems that increase academic outcomes, access to affordable housing, and career/economic opportunities for families. In 2024, rcf made over 150 grants in these areas. The majority of family economic security & education funding goes to the fort worth-dallas metropolitan area with a few grants going to east texas and to national organizations.

Medical research - the rcf medical research team primarily supports the tau consortium. The mission of the tau consortium brings together emerging and established researchers to work together on advancing the understanding of the primary tauopathies. The program includes oversight and management of annual tau consortium grant cycle which consisted of 74 grants in 2024. In the fall of 2024, the tau consortium held its annual gathering where researchers presented the findings of their research and collaborated on future work. Also in 2024, the rcf and its partners awarded the first grants from the tauopathy challenge workshop program which convenes experts around a single topic of interest that could solve a key gap in our understanding of primary tauopathies.
